When observing the class, my cooperating teacher asks many different types of questions. In the begging of the class she asks more questions like definition and such from previous discussions. This helps the students get their minds working like a scientist and warmed up to the concepts that they are learning in class. While going over activities she will be asking more questions where the students have to explain themselves. For example, why do you think that is the answer or how do you think this works and why. This has the students using the knowledge that has been given to them in action and having them apply and think all this good information that has been taught. On top of this she will ask another student on what they thought about their peers’ idea/response. When looking at questioning on different classes the only difference I would say is on the content not so much on the style of questioning that is being used.

In my classroom I believe that will use questioning in my different ways. Ask definition type question on terms that I believe are extremely important also to refresh their minds on the topics that we have been talking about. I will also try to use guiding questions that will help them to pull prior knowledge and also steer them in the right direction while having them think on their own. I will ask them the question WHY, and make them explain their steps of thinking for their answer. I believe that this will help the students learn the material and the points that I will be trying to get across to them.
